Lake Roosevelt WA

Area Attractions

Once you have arrived at Riverwood, take some time to decide what you would like to do next. Stretch out in the hot tub and watch a million gallons of water drift slowly by, a few yards away. Or throw out a line and try your luck at reeling in a large trout, a walleye, or a Kokanee salmon. If you are lucky enough to catch something we have two freezers to store your prize until it is time to go.

For your convenience we have a collection of brochures from local attractions as well as menus from local restaurants.  Here are a few of the highlights:

Find Your Park - National Park ServiceThe jewel of this region is Lake Roosevelt National Recreational Area!  Go for a guided canoe trip, pack a picnic, walk a hiking trail, take a mountain bike journey, or take a scenic drive along much of the shoreline...on highway 25, both north and south from our location, almost every bend in the road offers another spectacular view!

Pingston Creek Road is an ideal place to start with over 11 miles of breathtaking vistas around every curve and  corner. Be sure to take along a map or a GPS  navigator, there is a spiderweb maze of dirt roads to follow.

Kettle Falls Historical CenterVisit the Kettle Falls Historical Center, including the Interpretive Trail and the restored Saint Paul's Mission, then drive out to China Bend Winery for organic wine tasting, or stay in town and listen to live music while sampling locally brewed beer and hard ciders at Northern Ales Brewery.
If you like treasure-hunting, there are numerous antique and second-hand stores in the area!

There are numerous waterfalls and hiking trails nearby, and we have a collection of maps or guide books for most of them.  At Kettle Falls Marina, directly across the lake, you can rent boats for the day or drop your own boat in the water at the public boat ramp.  Play a round of golf in Colville or Addy, or in the winter, head up to the 49 Degrees Ski Resort in Chewelah.

There is in-season hunting and fishing year-round, snowmobiling and skiing in the winter, and boating and water skiing in the summer. Bring your kayaks and canoes, your sailboats and your jet skis; the clear blue lake is over a hundred miles long.

The sightseeing and activity opportunities are almost endless here in the most beautiful corner of the most beautiful state in the nation.
